Information we process

Depending on how you use AfterStream, this can include:

• Account information — your email address, display name, username, biography if you add one, and an avatar image if you upload one.
• Private Beta signup information — if you join the Private Beta waitlist, we collect your email address, the time you signed up, your signup status, the version of the signup notice you agreed to, and information about how you reached the website, such as campaign parameters, referring page, and landing page when available.
• Sign-in and session information — a signed, time-limited sign-in link sent to your email and a session cookie that keeps you signed in.
• Connected-platform information — if you connect a Twitch or Kick account, your provider identity and access tokens for that connection. Connection tokens are encrypted before they are stored.
• Streams you submit — information associated with streams you submit for processing, including the VOD URL, platform, stream title, streamer name, and duration.
• Chat and audience data — chat messages and aggregate chat statistics, such as message counts, unique chatters, and top emotes, from streams you submit.
• Generated content — clips, thumbnails, highlight details, and AI-generated content such as summaries, explanations, titles, hooks, and captions created from your streams.
• Communications — email correspondence such as Private Beta waitlist acknowledgements, Private Beta invitations, sign-in links, and, if enabled, processing notifications.

How we use this information

• To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
• To operate, maintain, secure, and provide AfterStream.
• To process streams you submit — including analyzing chat activity, detecting highlight moments, and generating clips, thumbnails, and AI content.
• To connect your Twitch or Kick account when you choose to and disconnect it when you ask.
• To send sign-in emails and, if enabled, notifications about stream processing.
• To manage the Private Beta waitlist and contact you about Private Beta access.
• To understand which campaigns and referral sources lead people to join the Private Beta.
• To understand and improve how the Service operates and how its features are used.
• To detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, security incidents, fraud, and technical problems.
• To comply with applicable legal obligations and protect the rights and security of the Company, our Users, and others.

AI processing

AfterStream uses OpenAI to help generate stream summaries, highlight explanations, and content suggestions such as titles, hooks, and captions.

To do this, AfterStream sends selected stream and engagement information to OpenAI. This includes stream metadata and aggregate chat statistics and may include engagement signals and information about detected highlight windows.

AfterStream does not send your raw stream video, full chat transcript, individual chat messages, or account information such as your email address to OpenAI for stream analysis.

The Company does not use Your Content to train its own AI models unless you separately agree to such use.

Cookies and analytics

AfterStream uses an essential session cookie to keep you signed in after you use a sign-in link. This cookie is HttpOnly, marked Secure in production, uses the SameSite=Lax setting, and expires automatically.

On the AfterStream website, you can also choose to allow optional analytics. If you allow analytics, AfterStream uses Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the website, including page visits and interactions with parts of the site. Google Analytics may use first-party analytics cookies for this purpose.

Analytics is not loaded unless you allow it.

You can change your analytics choice at any time using the Analytics control in the website footer.

AfterStream does not use analytics information for advertising and does not sell your information.

Service providers

We use a small number of service providers to help operate AfterStream. These providers may process information on our behalf or as necessary to provide their services.

• Cloudflare — to host parts of the AfterStream website infrastructure, store Private Beta signup records, and help protect the signup form from automated abuse using Cloudflare Turnstile.
• OpenAI — to generate stream summaries, highlight explanations, and content suggestions.
• Resend — to deliver Private Beta waitlist acknowledgements, Private Beta invitations, sign-in emails, and processing notifications.
• Google Analytics — if you allow optional analytics, to help us understand website traffic and how visitors interact with the AfterStream website.
• Twitch and Kick — to support account connections and stream submissions from those platforms.

AfterStream does not sell your information.

Data retention and deletion

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and operate the Service, fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with applicable legal obligations, resolve disputes, protect the Service, and enforce our agreements.

We do not currently promise a fixed retention period for every category of information processed by AfterStream.

When you delete a stream, AfterStream removes the stream and its associated data from the active Service.

When you permanently delete your account, AfterStream removes your account, connected-platform records, notification preferences, and submitted streams from the active Service.

Some information may remain for a limited period where reasonably necessary for technical, security, legal, or operational reasons, including information maintained by service providers according to their own applicable retention practices. We do not retain information longer than reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy.

Your choices and control

• Connecting Twitch or Kick is optional. You can submit a VOD directly and disconnect a connected platform at any time.
• You can preview, edit, and delete individual highlights and download clips AfterStream generates.
• You can delete a stream you've submitted, which removes the stream and its associated data from the active Service.
• You can permanently delete your AfterStream account.
• If you joined the Private Beta waitlist and want your waitlist information removed, you can contact us.
• You can allow or decline optional website analytics and change that choice using the Analytics control in the website footer.

Privacy requests

You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with you.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Some requests may be subject to limitations or exceptions under applicable law.

You may also have additional privacy rights depending on where you live. We will respond to privacy requests as required by applicable law.

Children

AfterStream is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13.

You must be at least 13 years old and meet the minimum age required to use AfterStream in your country. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use AfterStream only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information processed through the Service.

For example, AfterStream encrypts Twitch and Kick connection tokens before storing them and keeps your sign-in session in an HttpOnly cookie rather than exposing it to page scripts.

No method of transmission, storage, or security is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as AfterStream and our practices evolve. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “Last updated” date, and we will provide additional notice where required by applicable law.
